Have you had seasons where you stored out of fear that God might fail you?
Regarding this, Jesus declared: “Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions. Yes, the one who accumulates earthly wealth but is not rich in his relationship with God is a fool.”
Today, wealth is often associated with security. If I have economic capacity, then I can face an uncertain future with a solid foundation, and this will bring me peace of mind. Overemphasizing this can lead me to decide to store excessively.
The word “greed” is related to the excessive desire to possess and acquire wealth to hoard it. It reveals insecurity about tomorrow. I decide to store and not share because, deep down, I believe that God will not provide. It reveals unbelief and a false peace based on material possessions.
We all have seasons of greed, to a lesser or greater extent. It happens when we stop believing in God’s faithfulness and decide to hoard, “just in case the Father fails us.”
Let’s seek to enrich our relationship with God. His Word will increase our faith, dispel all insecurity, and greed will dissolve through the power of the Lord’s promises.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.
This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.”
— Luke 12:15, 21
