And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in the synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
His location was strategic: Galilee was a province to the north of Palestine, surrounded by military and trade routes that led into the country of Syria. Many people followed him.
Jesus engaged in three activities that spread his fame:
Firstly, he taught in the synagogues. He analyzed and explained the spiritual truths of the Old Testament. His wisdom and authority were remarkable.
Secondly, he preached the gospel of the kingdom, heralding the beginning of the Lord’s favorable year, the time for repentance and returning to God.
And thirdly, he healed every sickness and every disease among the people.
His love, mercy, and kindness, as in that time, remain relevant today. Let us continue with the triple ministry of Jesus: Teaching and discipling, preaching the good news of salvation, and praying for the healing of the sick and afflicted.
“Behold, the hand of God is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear” (Isaiah 59:1).
