Some people think that following Jesus will lead to the disappearance of all their problems. This is dangerously inaccurate and can lead to disappointments or false expectations.
Instead, our Savior was completely honest when he declared, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Undoubtedly, Jesus was warning us that every one of his followers would experience trials, unpleasant moments, and sorrows, just like everyone else.
The significant difference was that He would personally accompany us to face all these challenges, radiating His peace into our hearts and granting us His victory in the midst of our afflictions.
“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me, Lord” (Psalm 23:4).
