Some people believe that a man is known by the way he handles his money. Order or chaos will determine his future and that of his family.
Jesus established an unmovable hierarchy in the administration of economic resources.
He said: “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.”
Jesus was by no means against economic progress and family well-being. What he was clearly establishing was who the loving Giver of blessings is and what that specific gift is.
The Divine Giver deserves all our worship and gratitude; his gift, in this case economic resources, requires our wise management and good testimony.
It is a colossal, yet recurring, folly to invert this hierarchical order. Assigning the first place to wealth is not done declaratively; rather, it is established diffusely in day-to-day life.
We do not kneel before money and needs, but we give them all our attention and time. Ultimately, this reveals where our heart is.
From time to time, we will need to restore the order of priorities. The alarm sounds whenever there is crisis, disorder, and scarcity. Let us return to placing God in the first place and worshiping Him.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
