Some people have a natural aversion to Jesus. They imagine him pursuing them with an inquisitive look, to find out what they are doing and disapprove of their actions.
The truth is that Jesus was never on the side of those who judged others. Instead, he traveled through villages and cities, extending his hand of mercy to those who had fallen.
“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
This is the reason why Jesus walked among us. He did not come to criticize us or discard us, but to teach us a better way.
Every follower of the Master must keep this in mind. We are not on a pedestal to judge others. We are as sinful as they are; the only difference is that we have recognized our mistakes and asked for forgiveness.
Through a divine miracle, we can reflect the love of the Most High, but not His perfection. Let’s not be naive: Let’s share only what we have received, not what we pretend to possess.
Those of us who have been “on the other side of the street” know the great patience God had with us. Let’s not fall into the simplicity of condemning and withdrawing; let’s seek to engage with people, love them deeply, and seek their salvation.
