Have you ever experienced deep sadness in your life and felt like God had forgotten about you?
Once, Jesus entered a city and encountered a funeral procession. Leading the procession was a widow, and in the coffin lay her only son. A large crowd accompanied her.
Where was God, allowing all this to happen? What words of comfort suffice to heal such deep wounds?
The Lord was filled with compassion and said to the woman, “Do not weep.” Then he approached the coffin and touched it, exclaiming, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” The dead young man then sat up and began to speak. There, Jesus restored him to his mother.
What a surprising ending! And it seemed like God had forgotten about this woman.
Sometimes, the Most High accompanies us from afar in a time of suffering. His goal is for us to be refined in the furnace of affliction, to reach another level of maturity, and to confirm our faith.
Then, we will be ready to appreciate what truly matters.
Once we let go of all that is superficial, we will find Jesus at the end of the road, always arriving at the exact moment.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“Then he went up and touched the bier they were carrying him on, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!” The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.”
— Luke 7:14-15
