A man approached Jesus and asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
This man had strived to obey all the commandments, and Jesus pointed out to him, “There is one thing you still lack. Go, sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
Upon hearing this, the man went away sad because he had many possessions.
When we hear this story, we might think that one must sell all their properties to follow Jesus.
What the Savior was doing was testing this man, for his number one love was his possessions. It’s not wrong to properly manage the resources and goods that God allows us to enjoy.
What’s wrong is putting things and people in the first place in our hearts. That place belongs only to God.
Look at your schedule every morning and review at night everything you did. That way, you’ll know who or what occupies the prominent place in your life.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
At this the man’s face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth.”
— Mark 10:21-22
