Many people are searching for something in life and don’t know what it is. The thirst for meaning, love, and transcendence is something that has become widespread in our current world.
Jesus was sitting by a well and there he said: “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
Figuratively speaking, for Jesus, the water from the well was not just the liquid that quenched thirst; it also symbolized those things that can only partially or temporarily satisfy us.
That’s why he offered us the water of eternal life, his very presence dwelling within us, to definitively quench our thirst for meaning, love, and transcendence.
He said, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. He who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water” (John 7:37-38).

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
— John 4:13-14
