Jesus warned those who only lived in the present: “What sorrow awaits you who are rich, for your only happiness is here and now.
What sorrow awaits you who are well-fed now, for you will go hungry.
What sorrow awaits you who laugh now, for your laughing will turn to mourning and sorrow.”
It’s not wrong to be rich, it’s not wrong to be prosperous in studies and work, it’s not wrong to enjoy exquisite meals, it’s not wrong to seek happiness.
The mistake lies in enjoying only the here and now. We are tripartite beings: Body, soul, and spirit. Our tendency is to give greater prominence to the body.
Let’s not neglect the soul: Let’s develop our intellect to better understand people and work on the habit of governing our emotions.
As for the spirit, let’s give priority to our relationship with God: Our eternity and harmony in the other areas depend on it.
Let’s change the order of priorities: It’s not “Body, soul and spirit”; it’s “Spirit, soul and body.”

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“But woe to you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort.
Woe to you who are well fed now, for you will go hungry.
Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.”
— Luke 6:24-25
