Jesus and his disciples arrived in the land of the Gadarenes. There appeared a demon-possessed man, naked, who lived among the tombs.
Upon seeing Jesus, he began to shout, “What do you want with me, Son of the Most High God? I beg you not to torture me.”
Evil spirits influence in two ways: The first is external influence, by sending evil thoughts and temptations so that people become enslaved to sin.
The second is much more direct and aggressive. It’s demonic possession. In this case, one or more unclean spirits take residence in the individual.
In both situations, unclean spirits gradually enter the lives of people who unwittingly accommodate them. Practices of licentiousness, rebellion, idolatry, witchcraft, and spiritualism are directly related to demonic influence.
But for this, the Son of God appeared, to undo the works of the devil. Let us draw near to the Lord, ask for forgiveness, and renounce all practices of darkness. Our Savior has the power to break every bond of wickedness and declare us free.
It was then that Jesus freed this demon-possessed man and the whole city found him clothed, in his right mind, sitting at the feet of the Savior.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“And the people went out to see what had happened. When they came to Jesus, they found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus’ feet, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.”
— Luke 8:35
