For his time, Jesus said very innovative things: “Treat others as you would like them to treat you.
If you only love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them.”
This was very difficult to understand in his time and even in today’s time. It’s about figuring out what others want and what would make them feel very good.
Nowadays, this is called empathy: Putting yourself in others’ shoes and making them feel comfortable and happy. How would I like to be treated if I were that person?
This goes against the self-realization of our time, but believe it or not, it opens many doors and many hearts.
Putting oneself in others’ shoes and loving them even without being reciprocated is a true act of maturity, a step to which our Savior invites us to climb.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“Do to others as you would have them do to you. If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them.”
— Luke 6:31-32
