Who steers the helm of your life? Are you always clear-headed to navigate the journey ahead?
On this matter, Jesus stated: “If you try to hold on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.”
Think of your life as a great voyage across the sea. We all set sail with great enthusiasm. We appoint ourselves captains of the ship because, after all, it is our ship.
We embark on the journey in a vast and sunny sea. Oh, the marvelous exotic places we enjoy along the way. But as night falls, we realize we have lost sight and are at risk of collision.
That’s where Jesus says, “If you try to hold on to your life, you will lose it.” It’s up to us at that moment to make a decision: Will I stubbornly stand at the helm of the ship, or will I yield to someone with greater experience, someone whose perspective is high enough to avoid rocky areas and impending nighttime storms?
Again, Jesus tells us: “But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.” Entrust the helm of your life to Jesus, at the beginning of each journey, during the precious sunsets, and in the darkest nights. It’s about your safety and that of your passengers: Your loved ones.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self?”
— Luke 9:24-25
