Religious and political figures approached Jesus to ask: “Is it lawful to pay tribute to Caesar or not? Shall we give or shall we not give?” It was the moment to try and trap the Savior.
If Jesus said yes to the tributes, it would anger the Jews seeking liberation from the Roman Empire. If he said no, he would immediately be taken prisoner for rebellion.
The Lord, sensing their hypocrisy, said to them, “Why do you tempt me? Bring me a coin to look at.” They brought it, and he asked them, “Whose image and inscription is this?” They said, “Caesar’s.”
Then Jesus replied, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.” And they marveled.
The Savior did not miss the opportunity to teach that spiritual life also involves caring for the development of our community, city, and country. Part of our testimony is contributing with our effort and public taxes.
Does God want more families to have access to clean water, electricity, and decent housing, or is it only about their salvation? Well, if the Lord desires both, how can we not engage in such a noble cause to continue honoring God?
We have a commitment to the state in which we live, and to God, for whom we exist.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“Should we pay or shouldn’t we?” But Jesus knew their hypocrisy. “Why are you trying to trap me?” he asked. “Bring me a denarius and let me look at it.” They brought the coin, and he asked them, “Whose image is this? And whose inscription?”
“Caesar’s,” they replied.
Then Jesus said to them, “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.” And they were amazed at him.”
