About the great day of the Lord, Jesus declared, “And people will come from all parts of the world, from the east and the west, from the north and the south, to take their places in the kingdom of God.
And consider this: Some who now seem less important will be the most important on that day, and some who are now the most important will be the least important.”
Two uncomfortable things highlighted by Jesus: Firstly, the Church is global, interdenominational, a single army commanded and coordinated by Jesus Christ. There are no local messianic protagonists or solitary stars in the sky. Anyone thinking otherwise is immersed in vanity and outside the plans of the Holy Spirit.
Secondly, we must rearrange the value of ministries in our minds and hearts. Perhaps we think that the pulpit and the platform are the most important places to serve. They certainly have their purpose, but it is good to remember that a significant part of Jesus’ ministry was done by walking the streets and fields, visiting the needy in their homes.
Closing the reflection: Let’s broaden our ministerial vision, fulfill the local task at hand, while not ceasing to pray for God’s army deployed in the world. Let’s highlight less visible ministries, such as hosts, servers, visitation, and personal evangelism.
One day, they will be rewarded as the most important.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“People will come from east and west and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God. Indeed, there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last.”
— Luke 13:29-30
