While Jesus was eating at a house, a woman entered with a beautiful alabaster jar containing expensive perfume made from pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume over the Lord’s head.
Some of those at the table were indignant, saying, “Why waste such expensive perfume?” But Jesus responded, “Leave her alone. Why criticize her for doing something so good for me?”
There are many ways to worship God: we can do it with words, by living a life that honors Him, or by offering the best of what we have.
This woman worshiped the Lord with her most precious possession, an extremely costly perfume. Despite being criticized, the Savior graciously accepted this act of worship.
We too can offer the best we have in worship: our lives, our time, and our material resources.
When placed in God’s hands, they become the best investment we can make, and we will surely enjoy the results.
The woman with the perfume jar was recorded in Scripture itself, and we too can become part of the Lord’s story in this world for the final times.
