As Jesus passed by, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Teacher, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
Jesus answered, “It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him.”
At times, we imagine that illnesses are a punishment from God. Especially when we are unwell and feel vulnerable, we think, “Surely, God has forgotten about me,” or “I am not that important to Him.”
Behind many congenital or long-lasting illnesses, there might be a resentment towards God due to deep sadness.
Some illnesses will require a double healing: that of the body and the soul, the damaged organ and the emotions.
This blind man lived like a beggar; his body and self-esteem laid on a dusty street in Palestine until he encountered the Savior.
The Lord gave him sight he had never had before; he appreciated the colors of life for the first time, and his soul was restored. Thus, the glory of God manifested in him.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.”
— John 9:1-3
