Jesus went up a mountain and called those he wanted to accompany him. They came to him, and he appointed twelve of them as his apostles. They would stay close to the Master, and later, he would send them out to preach about God’s love.
We can see that it is the Lord who chooses his disciples and apostles. He also told them: “You did not choose me, but I chose you” (John 15:16).
Even before their birth, God had already designed a plan for them. He guided and prepared them from their childhood through adolescence, youth, and adulthood, without them even realizing it.
The same happens today with those who are called. Even if we were unaware, God was always by our side through every joyful and dark moment until the day of our salvation came.
We have been chosen by Jesus to be in his presence. Then, once transformed by his love, we are sent out to share the good news.
Everything was planned in advance: From our mother’s womb, we were physically and emotionally formed to be good disciples of Christ, useful instruments for his kingdom.
Let us take care and cherish this glorious purpose. There is a divine and wonderful plan for our lives. It is up to us to diligently discover the exact purpose.
