Jesus advised, “When you are on your way to court with your accuser, try to settle the matter before you get there. Otherwise, your accuser may drag you before the judge, who will hand you over to an officer, who will throw you into prison.
And if that happens, you won’t be free again until you have paid the last penny.”
This is a powerful parable illustrating God’s just judgment: The Creator is the impartial Judge, the accuser is Satan, and we are the ones who will stand before the heavenly court.
The entire journey to court is the life we have. It has a beginning and an end. It is the time we have to settle our accounts with God. Some wait until the final moment, while others wisely choose to pave the way to heaven by seeking forgiveness in advance.
Note that the accuser is Satan. He entices us to do shameful things in secret and then treacherously exposes them in God’s court. Also, observe the authority he has to drag people before the judge, an authority delegated by individuals when they decide to obey him, thereby renouncing the Creator’s protection.
If we don’t settle our accounts with God, we will be handed over to angels who will lead us to an eternal and irreversible death.
We are still on our way to court. Let’s not wait until the last moment. Satan is a bad companion for our journey. Renounce his authority and once again surrender the reins of your life to Jesus, the Savior.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“As you are going with your adversary to the magistrate, try hard to be reconciled on the way, or your adversary may drag you off to the judge, and the judge turn you over to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison. I tell you, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny.”
— Luke 12:58-59
