In a moment, Jesus said something very controversial: “Do you think I came to bring peace to the earth? No, I came to bring division among people. From now on, families will be divided, three in favor of me and two against me, or two in favor and three against.
There will be divisions; the father will be against the son and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter and the daughter against the mother; the mother-in-law against the daughter-in-law, and the daughter-in-law against the mother-in-law.”
What happened then? Wasn’t Jesus supposed to bring peace to the family? A person of such stature causes a severe impact wherever he goes, and that includes our homes.
At first, we will be a minority recognizing him as Lord, but we must be patient and allow others the time to look at him even from afar.
It is always a mistake to try to force our family members to come closer to God. That is the strict work of the Holy Spirit, and with great care, He will deal with each of our loved ones until He draws them with His gentle cords of love.
When Jesus enters a home, there may be a controversial division at first. It is natural because it is not just anyone arriving; it is the King of Kings in all His Majesty. Let’s witness in prayer what He will do: In God’s time, every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division. From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”
— Luke 12:51-53
