Jesus advised: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. Instead, store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Do you have a savings account for future projects? Congratulations. That’s being responsible. When Jesus refers to accumulating treasures on earth, he is talking about those resources that are hoarded compulsively and selfishly, solely for the purpose of amassing wealth.
These possessions bring a false peace and a false sense of value to those who treasure them. Can you imagine how shattered their heart would be if they fell victim to cyber theft or armed robbery? For this reason, earthly treasures are fleeting and also susceptible to the financial system.
It is better to accumulate treasures in heaven, invest quality time with God, share spiritual wealth with those in need of salvation, act in favor of others, and serve the Lord in season and out of season. Each accumulated day in heaven is counted in our favor.
One day our treasure will be revealed, and we will know where our heart has been.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
— Matthew 6:19-21
