And Jesus said to the experts in religious law: “What sorrow awaits you, experts in religious law, for you crush people under the weight of unbearable religious demands and never lift a finger to ease the burden.”

These so-called experts in the law were dedicated to maintaining the purity of the manuscripts of the Word of God. They couldn’t add or remove anything. However, they had yielded, adding very convenient human ordinances to their religious organization.

The scene was very similar to today. New masters of the law have emerged, self-appointed individuals who claim authority to add extra-biblical commandments and prophecies beyond the Scriptures.

They not only claim to have the guidance of the Holy Spirit but also consider themselves the Holy Spirit speaking in our modern times. They are not subject to any overseeing organization because they say they are accountable «directly» to the Lord.

We are living in dangerous times. The new masters of the law are already deployed in the world. Let us be extremely careful in choosing where we gather.
