Jesus said to his disciples: “No one lights a lamp and then hides it or puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a high place where everyone entering the house can see its light.”
It is beautiful to be among brothers of the same faith. It’s like being on an island, enjoying peace amidst the beauty of the trees. We would like to stay there forever because it reminds us a little of the heaven we long for.
But it is precisely that attractive island, when it becomes exclusive, that can ironically separate us from our great purpose here on earth.
We are lamps of God to illuminate this world. It’s special when we come together every week to receive fresh oil and form an immense light to worship the Lord together.
However, the purpose of being lamps remains to shine in the midst of darkness. Where there is darkness, we are called to illuminate; where light is scarce, it’s our role to shine.
We gather as lamps every week to pay tribute to the Lord, but then we strategically deploy ourselves until every corner of the earth can see the admirable light of Jesus.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light.”
— Luke 11:33
