Can you imagine being in the midst of a deadly persecution for your faith? How would you react if you were prohibited from approaching God?
Jesus said, “Dear friends, do not fear those who want to kill your body; after that, they can do nothing more to you.
I will tell you whom to fear: Fear God, who has the power to take your life and then throw you into hell. Yes, He is the one you should fear.”
The Lord was referring to the extreme case of deadly persecution for being a follower of Jesus. Could we endure such a threat and show loyalty to God until the end?
The best training is in our days. At least in the West, the bodies of Christians are no longer killed, but their spirit is attempted to be annihilated by belittling, discrediting, ridiculing, and labeling them as outdated.
Could you endure this type of eventual persecution, even from your family and friends? You would have to choose to fear the Lord to honor and respect Him above all.
If you cannot overcome this small eventual persecution, how will you endure the great persecution that is coming upon the world?

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.”
— Luke 12:4-5
