The interpreters of the law and the religious leaders brought to Jesus a woman caught in the very act of adultery.
And they said to Him: “The law commands us to stone her. So, what do you say?” Then the Lord replied, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.”
This story shows us how quick we are to judge others without giving them the slightest chance to repent.
We place ourselves on a pedestal of superiority, and from there, we pass judgment and sentence, as a way of forgetting that we too are prone to mistakes and poor decisions.
Those men, confronted by Jesus and convicted by their own conscience, began to walk away one by one.
Finally, the Lord said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Has no one condemned you? Neither do I condemn you; go, and sin no more.”
When was the last time you gave someone a chance who had fallen? Gossiping is also a way of throwing stones at someone in disgrace.
The true greatness of a child of God is not in boasting of clean clothes, but in immersing oneself in the pain of others and helping them rise out of the muddy pit they find themselves in.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”
— John 8:7
