While they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. Then He broke it into pieces and gave it to His disciples, saying, “Take it, for this is My body.”
And He took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them, saying, “This is My blood, which confirms the covenant between God and His people. It is poured out as a sacrifice for many.”
Jesus explained through the bread and wine what was about to happen. He is the bread of life, which would be broken for all of us, and the wine symbolized His blood that would be shed on the cross.
Both elements illustrate a precious covenant between God and humanity. When we eat the bread, we identify with Christ’s suffering and commit to enduring even hardship for His cause.
When we drink the wine, we remember that He loves us to the point of shedding all His blood, so that we may receive God’s blessing.
Today, we celebrate the Lord’s Supper not as a routine ceremony in our programs but by highlighting its clear and powerful message: the death of Jesus for all of us.
We partake in it with gratitude, renewing our commitment to follow Christ until the last day of our lives.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”
Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”
