Jesus’ work on earth was directed towards those living in darkness. The Son of Man came to seek and save the lost.
That’s why He said of Himself: “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”
The discipleship initiated by Jesus involves looking at a life with eyes of mercy, restoring it, and making it shine with His admirable light.
Subsequently, this disciple is tasked with illuminating the world with that same flame of God’s fire.
“No one after lighting a lamp puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light” (Luke 8:16).
If you are a disciple of Jesus and have been restored by Him, your directive is to shine with His admirable light.
Shine with noticeable changes in your character. Shine with your gifts and talents. But don’t cease to shine in a world in darkness.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
— John 8:12
