In those days, Jesus went up to the mountain to pray and spent the whole night in the presence of God.
When daylight came, He called His disciples and chose twelve of them, whom He also named apostles.
For Jesus, it was vital to always be in the presence of God. Through prayer, He received guidance and comfort during crucial moments.
That night of prayer had been very special. It was time for Him to choose those who would be closest to Him, the ones entrusted with carrying forward the ministry of reconciliation with God.
But this was not the only group He prayed for. He also prayed for those who would come afterward, and that includes us.
He said, “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word, that they all may be one; as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.”
We have the example of Jesus’ life, we have His support in prayer from the time He was on earth until today, as He intercedes for us at the right hand of the Most High.
His command is very clear: To maintain the unity of His Church in love, to move forward together in harmony, and to witness the wonderful work of God in saving lives.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.”
— John 17:20-21
