On the first day of the week, Jesus rose, and His disciples had already received the first news of what had happened.
When evening came, they were all gathered behind closed doors for fear of the Jews. The Savior entered, and standing in their midst, greeted them by saying, “Peace be with you.”
After saying this, He showed them His hands and His side. When the disciples saw Jesus, they were overjoyed. Then the Lord said to them again, “Peace be with you.”
Notice the close relationship between the peace of God and what had happened to Jesus’ hands and side.
The death and resurrection of the Lord brought about peace with God in two senses: Reconciliation with God and an inner peace that the world cannot give.
From then on, anyone who approaches the Most High and receives His forgiveness also receives the supernatural peace of God, an incredible peace that is not subject to circumstances, a profound peace that will be like an anchor in the midst of the worst storms.
Jesus declared, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid” (John 14:27).

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.
Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”
— John 20:20-21
