Jesus was walking with His disciples and asked them, «Who do people say that I am?»
They replied, «Some say John the Baptist; others, Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets.»
Some people associated Jesus with John the Baptist because, at the beginning, both preached the same message: «The Kingdom of Heaven is near.»
Others linked Jesus to Elijah because of His miracles and wonders. And there were some who thought Jesus was a prophet, a messenger of God, like many others who had appeared before.
At this point, we might ask ourselves: Who is Jesus truly? Just a historical figure? A pious man who spoke eloquently? A healer of various diseases? Or perhaps, a dreamer who wanted to change the world?
This very question, Jesus asked His own disciples. Among them, Peter emerged and said, «You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God!»
Immediately, Jesus responded, «Blessed are you, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by My Father who is in Heaven.»
Analyzing the Savior with our finite minds will inevitably lead us to error; however, receiving direct revelation from the Creator will show us Jesus Christ as the Son of God, the Lord who conquered death to bring us salvation.

VERSE OF THE DAY:

Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.”
