Jesus was about thirty years old when he began his public ministry. He was known as the son of Joseph.
When we talk about the life of Jesus, we hardly ever mention his father, Joseph. He is the splendid example of a father in the background, who knew how to shape his son to the point of seeing him shine in his greatest brilliance.
Joseph accepts Mary as his wife, and they travel to Bethlehem to be registered. There, he assists his spouse in the unexpected birth in the stable, and then protects his family by taking them to Egypt.
When they return, he establishes their home in Nazareth and works hard as a carpenter to support his family. In that town, he taught Jesus his own trade and the high values of God.
The public ministry of the Savior was magnificent, but behind it, there was a great silent ministry: The work of a father who shaped and polished him to the point of making him shine as a person.
Yes, Jesus was God, but he had an extraordinary mentor who encouraged and accompanied him in his childhood and youth. Thus, Father Joseph, and many fathers, can become a significant and silent part of the history of humanity.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“They said, “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can he now say, ‘I came down from heaven’?”
— John 6:42
