From ancient times to the present day, one of the topics that generates the most anticipation is whether there is life after death.
Jesus addresses this particular topic when He says: “But about the dead rising—even Moses showed that the dead rise, for he calls the Lord ‘the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to Him all are alive.”
With this, the Lord confirms that there will be a resurrection of the dead. “And those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned” (John 5:29).
Jesus also details the condition of those who rise to eternal life: “They neither marry nor are given in marriage, and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God’s children, since they are children of the resurrection” (Luke 20:35-36).
With this promising future for our lives, how can we not serve the Lord faithfully in these short years we have on earth? We say short because they will be as nothing compared to the unparalleled joy of shining eternally alongside our heavenly Father.
“Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever” (Daniel 12:3).

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“But in the account of the burning bush, even Moses showed that the dead rise, for he calls the Lord “the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.”
— Luke 20:37-38
