Jesus entered the temple and saw a man with a deformed hand. The religious leaders were watching him closely; if he healed the man, they planned to accuse him of working on the day of rest.
God had given a special day each week to leave behind their labors and worries. The purpose was to dedicate specific time to seek the Almighty, know Him more, and enjoy life with family.
This is vital for maintaining mental, emotional, and physical balance. However, God never prohibited them from being attentive to the needs of others on this day of rest.
The Savior said to the man with the deformed hand, “Come and stand in front of everyone. Now stretch out your hand.” So the man stretched it out, and his hand was restored.
Jesus, the Lord of the Sabbath, declared, “I desire mercy, not sacrifice” (Matthew 12:7).
Let us take a day of rest to contemplate and thank God for His great goodness and provision. Let us use this opportunity to strengthen family bonds and better organize our homes. Let us also use this special day to help those in need.
The day of rest is not a law with punishment; it is a wise gift from the Creator to enjoy and practice His mercy.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“He looked around at them all, and then said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He did so, and his hand was completely restored. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law were furious and began to discuss with one another what they might do to Jesus.”
— Luke 6:10-11
