Jesus was tireless, traveling through various towns and cities. To learn more about Him, there was only one option: to make the decision to follow Him by faith.
On one occasion, a man said to Him, “I will follow You, Lord; but first let me say goodbye to those at my home.”
And Jesus replied, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”
The Lord was not telling him to be discourteous to his family. On the contrary, God encourages us to provide love, time, and resources to our loved ones.
Rather, Jesus was certain that this man would succumb to his own feelings and the opinions of those close to him. Ultimately, he would renounce his desire to follow the Savior.
The decision to accept Jesus as Lord is not a group determination but one that is one hundred percent personal. We cannot wait to agree together to be saved as a group.
Putting your hand to the plow is the individual decision to follow Jesus in a straight, responsible, and consistent manner, trusting in His precious promises.
Then, we can return to our loved ones and show them the valuable treasure we have found in the Savior.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
