The passion and death of Jesus is the greatest act of injustice in the history of humanity. The false witnesses, the secret arrest, the summary trial, and the merciless execution are the elements that have led scholars to declare the event illegal, even in its time.
But if we were to stop at this view, we would think that God lost control of the situation and that evil triumphed over justice.
Jesus made His incredible plan of salvation clear when He said, “For this reason, the Father loves me, because I lay down my life so that I may take it up again.
No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have the authority to lay it down, and I have the authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”
Thus, this manifest injustice of men still served to fulfill the eternal purposes of the Almighty. The most illegal act of humanity allowed for the display of the greatest act of God’s love for us.
In general terms, every act of injustice that the Creator permits falls under His sovereignty. Although we may not understand and assimilate the frustration initially, with time, we will see God’s wise purpose in everything.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”
— John 10:17-18
