John the Baptist drew attention to the Jews by saying, “Don’t just say to each other that you’re safe because you’re descendants of Abraham. That means nothing, for I tell you, God can create children of Abraham from these very stones.”
What John was conveying was that no one could be assured of salvation based on the merits of any ancestor or previous family member.
No one will enter the Kingdom of Heaven simply because they have attended church since childhood, are part of a devout family, or know songs and verses from the Scriptures.
At some point in our lives, we will have an encounter with Jesus, and we will have to decide whether or not to follow Him. It will be a momentous occasion; only we will know it, as it will mark a before and after in our story.
God’s plan is that everyone who receives Christ as their Lord and believes in His name has the power to become a child of God.
The decision is personal, and this immense blessing is not inherited from parents, grandparents, or Christian ancestors.
God has no grandchildren; only children.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“And do not think you can say to yourselves, “We have Abraham as our father.” I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.”
— Matthew 3:9
