Jesus said to his disciples: “The truth is that the children of this world are shrewder in dealing with the world around them than the children of light.
Here is the lesson: Use your resources to benefit others and make friends. Then, when those possessions are gone, they will welcome you to an eternal home.”
The Lord encouraged his disciples to face the world without fear, to share work and friendly relationships with firm confidence, knowing that we are bearers of truth and light.
He never proposed that we retreat into a timid religious circle, hiding in panic, clumsy in social interactions at all levels. On the contrary, He encourages us to use a responsible part of our resources to create appropriate environments to share and listen to people.
Great and small business deals in the world are forged over relaxing lunches and dinners, establishing friendly and trusting relationships. How much more so when we talk about the business of God.
Responsibly set aside time and resources to go out and enjoy valuable moments with people. It’s about listening first, understanding their view of the world, and responding to their needs with the love and light of the Lord.
