Jesus was at home, and immediately many people gathered. There was no more room, not even at the door, and He preached the Word to them.
Then, some men came to Him bringing a paralytic, who was carried by four of them. Since they could not get near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was, and after making an opening, they lowered the bed on which the paralytic was lying.
Everyone was very surprised. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the one lying there, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Then, with authority, He exclaimed, “Get up, take your bed, and go to your house.”
At that moment, the paralytic got up and went out in front of everyone.
Four friends with great faith agreed to bring this young man before Jesus. Four friends decided not to save themselves alone and to help the one who was incapacitated. Four friends did not stop at the human barrier and hurt their hands digging through the roof.
That is why Jesus looked at them with mercy and granted the miracle for their friend.
The day we are bedridden, may God grant us friends like these. In the meantime, let us strive to be like these four and carry our afflicted friends to Jesus.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
