Jesus said to his disciples: “Love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who mistreat you.
If someone slaps you on one cheek, offer them the other cheek also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them.”
What strange recommendations Jesus gave to his disciples. Being a disciple of Jesus means being a light in the midst of a tormented world.
At first, you won’t be surrounded by people who congratulate you for your new way of life. On the contrary, unfriendly people will appear who will question your decision.
That’s where Jesus asks us to love them, do good to them, and bless them. That’s exactly turning the other cheek: Responding to offense with God’s love. Who knows if with that gesture and that constant attitude, you might win a soul for the kingdom of heaven.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them.”
— Luke 6:27-29
