The death of Jesus on the cross made forgiveness of sins possible for all who believe in Him, and likewise, had decisive consequences on our new communion with God.
“But Jesus, again crying out with a loud voice, gave up His spirit. And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth shook, and the rocks were split.”
It is interesting to observe the synchrony of the events to understand what God was doing.
At the very moment of Jesus’ death, the veil of the temple, which separated man from the most holy place, from the very presence of God, was torn in two.
Note that the veil of the temple is not torn from bottom to top, which could suggest the action of some man. Rather, it is torn from top to bottom, to show God’s initiative to have intimate communion with us, starting from the expiatory sacrifice of Jesus.
The other important fact is that the thickness of the veil was approximately 4 inches, making it impossible for a human being to break it by sheer force, much less in exact synchrony with the death of the Lord.
This miraculous act was powerfully executed by God to show us that, thanks to the sacrifice of Jesus, we now have direct access to the presence of the Most High.

VERSE OF THE DAY:
“And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split.”
— Matthew 27:50-51
